Short description

New York Undercover is an American police drama The series stars Detective J.C. Williams and Detective Eddie Torres, two undercover detectives in New York City's Fourth Precinct who were assigned to investigate various crimes and gang-related cases.

What's left behind the scenes

The decline in the series' popularity is attributed to the departure of Michael DeLorenzo, who played Eddie Torres. This character was killed off at the end of the third season.
Before work began on the project's third season, Michael DeLorenzo (who played Detective Eddie Torres) and Malik Yoba (who played Detective Williams) rebelled and refused to film, demanding higher salaries and improved living conditions. Filming had to be halted for several days. Executive producer Dick Wolf threatened to fire the actors and "kill off" their characters in the script. DeLorenzo and Yoba returned to the set, but DeLorenzo left the series cast at the end of the season regardless.
