Short description

Los Angeles. 1983. A storm is coming and its name is crack. Set against the infancy of the crack cocaine epidemic and its ultimate radical impact on the culture as we know it, the story follows numerous characters on a violent collision course.

What's left behind the scenes

The first pilot episode failed, and Dave Andron became one of the project's creators and the showrunner. Following this, another pilot episode was filmed with some changes to the cast.
According to showrunner Dave Andron, the creators initially intended to make the characters' wardrobes exactly match 1980s fashion; however, they eventually decided to omit details such as massive shoulder pads, which would have distracted a modern audience. (A showrunner is an executive producer responsible for the primary direction and development of a project.)
The series takes place in Los Angeles in 1983, shortly before the city was swept by the crack cocaine epidemic.
"Snow" is slang for cocaine.
