What's left behind the scenes
- At the beginning of each episode, there is a coded summary of the plot: four pictograms inside a large letter "O".
- The series was filmed on the shores of Lanier Lake and Allatoona Lake near Acworth, Georgia, although the plot is set on the Ozark Plateau in Missouri.
- One of the screenwriters, Bill Dubuque, is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, and worked part-time at a lake during his teens, so the series is to some extent based on his memories.
