Short description

Teresa flees Mexico after her drug-runner boyfriend is murdered. Settling in Dallas, she looks to become the country's reigning drug smuggler and to avenge her lover's murder.

Sandra Avila Beltran, who served as the prototype for the main character, was arrested in 2007. In 2015, she was released after spending 7 years in prison. She currently resides in the city of Guadalajara, Mexico.
The series is based on the novel of the same name by Arturo Pérez-Reverte.
