Short description

What's left behind the scenes

Kellita Smith (who played Warren) and Russell Hodkinson (who played Doc) portrayed the same characters from the series in the films 'Sharknado 3' and 'Sharknado 5: Global Swarming' respectively, which were also produced by The Asylum.
The filming schedule for the first season was very tight—each episode was shot in six days, and most scenes were captured in a maximum of three takes.
Keith Allan, who played the role of Murphy in the series, originally worked at The Asylum Production as a general production assistant on set. When the first season of the series went into production, he was offered an audition and subsequently landed the role.
Murphy's blue skin had to be abandoned after numerous complaints about the makeup from Keith Allan. The actor often had to remain in makeup for up to 12 hours, which negatively affected the condition of his skin.
During the filming of season 2, Russell Hodkinson, who played Doc, lived in a local residents' home in Spokane. Instead of paying rent, the actor painted the walls of the house and performed other odd jobs.
According to showrunner Carl Schaefer, the zombie apocalypse in the series' universe began on November 9, 2016.
In the 5th episode of season 1, the plot centers around a zombie tornado. This is a reference to the 'Sharknado' film series produced by the same studio.
The series was filmed in Spokane, Washington.
For unknown reasons, the SyFy channel released episodes 9 and 10 of season 1 in reverse order.
