Short description
After resigning, a secret agent is abducted and taken to what looks like an idyllic village, but is really a bizarre Kafkaesque prison. His warders demand information. He gives them nothing, but only tries to escape.

What's left behind the scenes
- The series was filmed over the course of a year in a resort village in North Wales. Director Patrick McGoohan (1928-2009) chose this location because he had filmed a couple of episodes of the series "Danger Man" (1960-1962) there.
- Patrick McGoohan was determined to keep his character free of romantic interests (a rule he had already followed while working on "Danger Man"). A few times, the screenwriters tried to suggest romantic ties between his character and female characters, but McGoohan nipped all such attempts in the bud. Initially, romantic relationships with his character had been written into the scripts for Nadia Gray (1923-1994) and Angela Brown (1938-2001).
