What's left behind the scenes

The song 'All the Way From Memphis' by the British band Mott the Hoople also appears in Martin Scorsese's tragicomedy 'Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore' (1974).
Initially, Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger intended to make a full-length feature film.
The idea that later materialized into the series 'Vinyl' was proposed to director Martin Scorsese by Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones as early as the mid-1990s.
As soon as the decision to film the series was made, Terence Winter wrote the script for the pilot; however, he handed the project over to George Mastras, as he was busy filming the series 'Boardwalk Empire' (2010-2014). Nevertheless, work on the project dragged on for so long that Winter managed to finish 'Boardwalk Empire' and return to it.
The pilot episode was directed by Martin Scorsese.
After the pilot episode was released, the second season was given the green light, but a couple of months after the first season finished airing, HBO reconsidered its decision.
