Short description

What's left behind the scenes

At the request of the showrunners, the production crew was granted permission (for the first time in history) to film at 1358 Wilcox Avenue in Los Angeles, where the Hollywood Police Division is located. Filming took place in the evening, after many detectives had already gone home. Police officers who were not on duty that evening served as extras.
According to cinematographer Patrick Cady, during filming he sought to use lenses that not only physically accurately convey reality but also embellish it on screen. Patrick's idea was to convey his specific vision of reality, regardless of the viewer's emotional state.
At the 39-minute mark of Season 1, Episode 4, as Harry Bosch pursues Reynard Waits and approaches the exit of a drainage pipe, he is holding a gun and a flashlight. After a cut, the flashlight disappears.
At the 33-minute mark of Season 6, Episode 4, Harry Bosch is talking to Agent Sylvia Reece in a park. When they pause during the dialogue, a microphone appears at the top of the frame.
