Short description

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back in an all-new animated series on Nickelodeon! Surfacing topside for the first time on their fifteenth birthday, the titular turtles, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael and Donatello, find that life out of the sewers isn't exactly what they thought it would be. Now the turtles must work together as a team to take on new enemies that arise to take over New York City.

What's left behind the scenes

The device the characters use to detect green ooze is a slightly modified Nintendo Game Boy. The sound the viewer hears when the device is turned on is the actual Game Boy startup sound.
This series incorporates elements from all incarnations of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles—namely, from the comics, cartoons, and feature films.
The Turtles' friend, Casey Jones, carries a hockey stick labeled 'Eastman' and wears 'Laird' hockey pads. This is a tribute to the creators of the Ninja Turtles, Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.
The first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics were conceived as a parody of Walt Disney's works and the comics of artist Frank Miller. This is why this series contains so many parodies of and references to famous elements and figures of pop culture.
