Short description

A small town is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. While military forces, the government and the media positioned outside of this surrounding barrier attempt to break it down, a small group of people inside attempt to figure out what the dome is, where it came from, and when (and if) it will go away.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The series is based on Stephen King's novel 'Under the Dome' (2009).
  • In the first episode of the second season, Stephen King himself, the creator of the 'Under the Dome' world, appeared in the small restaurant.
  • In the first episode of the second season, in the scene where most of the town's population has blacked out and Big Jim is talking to 'Linda', Junior is shown sometimes among the crowd and sometimes completely alone.
  • In the first episode of the third season, Big Jim gets drunk and shoots a photograph sitting on a nightstand. He then picks up the photo. There is a bullet hole in the photograph, but the wall behind it remains undamaged.
