What's left behind the scenes

The working title of the series was 'Department 8, Alpha People.' Its concept was developed back in 2006, but it was only put into production three years later.
In the 12th episode of season 2, the character played by Summer Glau is asked if the tracking device is a 'terminator.' This is a reference to the television series 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' (2008-2009), in which the actress starred.
