What's left behind the scenes

  • The classic white-and-pink color scheme of the female Autobot Arcee was considered too "girly" and was replaced with blue.
  • Initially, it was intended that the Decepticon Makeshift would survive the end of the episode in which he first appeared, but the project's creators decided that his ability to take the form of other robots gave him too great an advantage. This is why his presence in the series is limited to a single episode, at the end of which he perishes.
  • According to some sources, the appearance of the Vehicons was inspired by the look of the Batmobile.
  • The appearance of some characters is based on their look in the franchise films directed by Michael Bay, although they also incorporate certain traits from the 'Transformers' animated series (2007-2009).
  • Miko (voiced by Tanya Gunadi) was made an exchange student from Japan because, at one point, the creators wanted to produce an episode where she returns to Japan accompanied by Bulkhead. The idea to make such an episode was eventually abandoned.
  • It was originally intended that the Autobot Ironhide would appear in the series instead of Bulkhead, but the project's creators later realized that Bulkhead would be a better fit. He was voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson.
  • As the project's creators explained, the Transformers here do not have noses because they do not need to breathe. Some commentators noted this nuance and the strange, lipless mouths of the characters, which gave them an eerie appearance. Certain characters were given large, distinct eyebrows to make it easier for them to express emotions.
  • It was originally intended that the figurines Miko wears on her belt would be Decepticon spies.
  • The concept of a mute Bumblebee was borrowed from Michael Bay's sci-fi action movie "Transformers" (2007). This contradicts his image in the "Transformers" animated series (2007-2009), where the character talked incessantly.
  • Initially, it was planned to create an animated series spanning three seasons, but by the middle of the second season, the creators ran out of ideas. This explains the sudden transition from short, standalone stories to long and detailed plotlines in the second half of Season 2.
