Short description
Dr. Temperance Brennan and her colleagues at the Jeffersonian's Medico-Legal Lab assist Special Agent Seeley Booth with murder investigations when the remains are so badly decomposed, burned or destroyed that the standard identification methods are useless.

- Angela Montenegro's middle name, 'Pearly Gates', is the name of a guitar belonging to ZZ Top member Billy Gibbons, who plays Angela's father in several episodes.
- Joel Moore, who plays Colin Fisher, wins 3 tickets to the premiere of the movie 'Avatar'. Moore plays one of the key roles in 'Avatar'.
- In the 10th episode of season 5, Dr. Brennan's second cousin is played by Emily Deschanel's real-life sister, Zoe.
