What's left behind the scenes
- Each episode of the miniseries is based on one of the books from the 'Patrick Melrose' series (1992, 1992, 1994, 2005, 2012) by English writer Edward St Aubyn.
- Initially, it was intended that Mary Melrose would be played by Lara Pulver, who had already worked with Benedict Cumberbatch in the TV series 'Sherlock' (2010). Later, however, this idea was abandoned and the role was given to Anna Madeley.
