What's left behind the scenes
- Cole Sprouse's first cinematic project after taking a break from his acting career to complete a degree in archaeology at New York University.
- In the final episode of Season 1, Archie breaks through ice with his fist to save Cheryl. KJ Apa suffered a hand injury while filming this scene.
- KJ Apa is originally from New Zealand. On set, it was discovered that he speaks completely without an accent.
- Initially, it was a project for the FOX network, but it later moved to The CW, which already had experience adapting comics for the screen.
- The titles of all episodes in the first season are borrowed from movies.
- The series is based on a series of comics and their spin-offs from Archie Comic Publications, Inc., featuring artist Bob Montana and editor (and one of the publisher's founders) John Leonard Goldwater.
- The series was filmed in the outskirts of Vancouver, in the Canadian province of British Columbia.
- Jughead's headwear is a more modern version of what he usually wore in the comics. In those, the character wore a felt hat with trimmed brims—the latest fashion trend among American teenagers in the early 20th century.
