What's left behind the scenes

  • The studio pavilion recreates the sets of two apartments and a stairwell. Everything exactly mirrors the real-life conditions, though there are a few little tricks. Kostya and Vera's kitchen actually has two doors: one leading to the hallway and the other to the living room. To make the street and surrounding buildings visible from the characters' windows and balconies, huge photo wallpapers with a cityscape are hung behind them. The time of day is controlled using lighting.
  • The furniture for Kostya's parents' living room had to be ordered online, as similar styles have already gone out of fashion. The rest of the furnishings for the series were bought in regular stores.
  • Kostya, Lyonya, and Nikolai Petrovich appeared in episode 3 of season 2 of the series 'Newlyweds' (2011-2012).
  • Ekaterina Volkova's main competitor for the role of Vera was actress Svetlana Antonova. According to Ekaterina, this had been kept from her for many years.
  • Filming for the series began on August 25, 2009, in Moscow.
  • According to the documentary 'Exporting Raymond' (2010), actor Evgeny Miller was considered for the role of Kostya Voronin twice. His candidacy was approved by the creator of the original series, Philip Rosenthal. The first time, he was rejected by the channel's producers, who cited a lack of leading roles in film; the second time, he was not released for filming by Oleg Tabakov, the artistic director of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre.
  • Lenya's police uniform is authentic.
  • Due to the pregnancy of Ekaterina Volkova, who played Vera, her baby bump had to be concealed in various ways: costume designers altered the main character's clothing, the actress's positioning was constantly adjusted so the belly wouldn't be noticeable, and body doubles were hired for scenes that were dangerous for a pregnant woman.
  • In the 10th episode, Kostya calls Vera 'Vera Vasilyevna,' but in subsequent episodes, it is revealed that her patronymic is 'Sergeyevna.'
  • Stanislav Duzhnikov, who plays Kostya's older brother, is two years younger than Georgy Dronov.
  • In episode 258, Stanislav Duzhnikov's character says, 'I almost jumped out of the metro and ran along the rails, like in that movie'; this is a reference to the film 'Metro' (2012), in which Duzhnikov plays a courier caught in a metro accident who runs along the tracks to escape a train.
  • An unusual prop was the GAZ-24-10 car. It is a real vehicle; it was driven into the studio and then filmed against a solid-colored background.
  • In the 20th episode, Vera hints to Kostya that he wasn't by her side when Masha was born. However, episode 100 shows that all the Voronins (including Kostya) were present at the hospital.
  • The series contains repeated references to the well-known cinematic works of Boris Klyuev, who plays the role of Nikolai Petrovich.
  • Among the children's drawings hanging around the house, there are actual paintings created with the help of the series' young actors—Maria Ilyukhina and twins Kirill Mikhin and Philipp Mikhin.
  • The appliances in the characters' kitchen are mostly props, with the exception of the refrigerator. However, it doesn't work either, as the noise would have interfered with the filming process.
