What's left behind the scenes
- Maria Pirogova auditioned for the role of Varya Chernous, but turned it down due to a heavy study load.
- In the series, Dmitry Sharakois wears glasses that belonged to his late grandfather. He wore them to his audition and was cast as intern Levin in that look. However, the lenses have no prescription, as the actor himself has perfect vision.
- Ivan Okhlobystin's father was a chief physician.
- The toilet, which is part of the hospital set, is a prop and is not connected to the sewage system. Therefore, a warning is posted next to it for the film crew, advising them not to attempt to use it.
- Filming is conducted in a pavilion specially built for the series on the site of a former factory. The medications and medical equipment seen on screen are real, with the equipment either rented or decommissioned.
- The cognac in Doctor Kupitman's office is real. However, during filming, the actor drinks colored tea instead of alcohol. As a result, in some scenes, you can see a shot glass fogged up from the hot tea.
- Filming one episode takes four days.
- Almost all the plots are taken from real medical practice.
- In episode 56, Levin says he was offered an internship in the US at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. This is the hospital where Doctor House from the series of the same name works.
