Short description
Tired of scaring humans every October 31 with the same old bag of tricks, Jack Skellington, the spindly king of Halloween Town, kidnaps Santa Claus and plans to deliver shrunken heads and other ghoulish gifts to children on Christmas morning. But as Christmas approaches, Jack's rag-doll girlfriend, Sally, tries to foil his misguided plans.

- Tim Burton was originally intended to direct the animated film. However, due to his commitment to “Batman Returns,” Henry Selick was appointed to the position.
- In the original voice acting (as well as in translations into other languages), the character Cryto speaks and sings with a female voice. Only in the Russian version was his gender changed, with his voice provided by Andrey Makarevich.
- In the German version of the cartoon, the part of Sally is re-sung by the famous punk diva Nina Hagen.
