Short description

It's the 1940s, and the notorious Axe Gang terrorizes Shanghai. Small-time criminals Sing and Bone hope to join, but they only manage to make lots of very dangerous enemies. Fortunately for them, kung fu masters and hidden strength can be found in unlikely places. Now they just have to take on the entire Axe Gang.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The names of many characters are borrowed from the works of Louis Cha, author of wuxia novels.
  • In one episode, a couple dancing the cha-cha-cha is visible through the window. This is a reference to Bruce Lee, who won the Hong Kong cha-cha-cha championship in 1958.
  • Sammo Hung was responsible for directing two scenes. He filmed a fight between three masters and a thousand fighters in black suits, as well as their duel with two musicians.
