Short description
Two top CIA operatives wage an epic battle against one another after they discover they are dating the same woman.
What's left behind the scenes
- When Lauren (Reese Witherspoon) looks at her dating profile, she sees the profile of Tom Hardy's character there, where he is called John Harrison, although his name in the film is Tac.
- The Blu-Ray edition of the film features two alternative endings: Alternative ending #1: In the finale, after the car crash, Lauren chooses Tak. In the finale, two flight attendants come to Franklin; Alternative ending #2: In the finale, after the car crash, Franklin and Tak end up on the same side, thereby showing that Lauren didn't stay with either of the heroes.
- Sam Worthington, Colin Farrell, Justin Timberlake, and Seth Rogen were considered for the lead roles, but ultimately they went to Chris Pine and Tom Hardy.
- Payne's hero readily tells girls that he is a ship's captain. This is a reference to Captain Kirk's role in "Star Trek".
- The transformation of the main characters, Franklin and Tak, into real CIA agents was the task of Paul Morris, a military advisor with extensive combat experience, who acted as a technical consultant for the CIA during the filming of the movie.
