Short description
A Jewish man and a Jewish woman meet, and while attracted to each other, find that their worlds are very different. She is the archetypal Jewish American Princess — very emotionally involved with her parents' world and the world they have created for her, while he is much less dependent on his family. They begin an affair which brings more differences to the surface.
What's left behind the scenes
- The wedding scene originally included a 10-minute speech by a character played by Monroe Arnold (1924-1991). However, during editing, it was decided that the speech prolonged the film too much and didn't quite fit the overall atmosphere, so it was cut down to 45 seconds. This greatly upset Arnold and was one of the reasons he left the profession shortly after filming wrapped.
