Short description

Unfounded suspicions lead a married couple to begin divorce proceedings, whereupon they start undermining each other's attempts to find new romance.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Cary Grant (1904-1986) disliked his role and constantly hinted that another role would suit him better, and that Ralph Bellamy (1904-1991) would be a better fit; the role he coveted had been written for Roland Young (1887-1953).
  • During the preview screenings, it turned out that the audience’s reaction to what they saw could be described as normal, but certainly not outstanding. The audience was unaccustomed to seeing three stars in one comedy, and viewers simply didn’t know whether to laugh or not.
