What's left behind the scenes
- All indoor scenes were filmed in Berlin.
- Jeff Wilbush, the actor who played the role of Moishe, was raised in an ultra-Orthodox Hasidic community until he left it at the age of 13.
- At the audition at the end, Esti sings the same song she sang during her wedding to Yanky.
- The fur hat is a shtreimel, or a Hasidic head covering worn only on particularly solemn occasions. All of these were made from faux fur for the filming. Authentic shtreimels are trimmed with sable or marten fur, and their cost can reach $1,000.
