What's left behind the scenes

Lucy Lawless, who played Alexa, shared that the third season of the project was filmed at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. New Zealand closed its borders, and Ebony Vagulans (who played Madison) was unable to fly in for filming. The problem was solved by introducing a local resident to the cast (who played Beth, Madison's friend). Then she contracted COVID, but Vagulans managed to arrive and returned to her role. Later, Vagulans herself fell ill with COVID and was replaced by the same local actress.
The second season was filmed in New Zealand, so they had to find a new cat to replace the one that served as the pet for the main character played by Lucy Lawless. Lawless herself wrote on social media that it would be her own pet cat; however, a different cat was chosen, although on screen it was referred to by the name of Lawless's pet.
