What's left behind the scenes
- Initially, David Fincher wanted to create an adaptation for HBO. The network commissioned a pilot episode from Fincher in 2014, on the condition that Gillian Flynn serve as showrunner (he had worked with her on the thriller based on her novel, "Gone Girl"). In February 2015, Fincher left the project due to financial disagreements with the network's management, and the project was shut down. Three years later, Amazon revived the project, again bringing Flynn on as showrunner.
- The drawings for the graphic novel 'Utopia Experiments' shown in the series were created by João Ruas.
- Judging by the cinema poster in Chicago, the musical 'Gone Girl,' written by Gillian Flynn, is playing there.
