What's left behind the scenes

Unlike all previous films in the series, this project is not based on any of Tom Clancy's (1947-2013) Jack Ryan novels. Lead actor John Krasinski stated that the plot was "plucked from modern news feeds."
According to lead actor John Krasinski, while filming at the CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia, the production crew was granted access to areas of the complex that had previously been off-limits to filmmakers.
