What's left behind the scenes

The appearance of one of the main characters, Yuri Plisetsky, was inspired by Russian Olympic figure skating champion Julia Lipnitskaya. In 2014, screenwriter Mitsuro Kubo attended the Grand Prix Final in Barcelona and met Julia Lipnitskaya there. Kubo was deeply impressed by her fashionable, striking image both on the ice and in her daily life, and decided to introduce a visually similar character into the plot, but as a male.
