Short description

Will Truman and Grace Adler are best friends living in New York, and when Grace's engagement falls apart, she moves in with Will. Together, along with their friends, they go through the trials of dating, sex, relationships and their careers, butting heads at times but ultimately supporting one another while exchanging plenty of witty banter along the way.

What's left behind the scenes

In the very first episode, Megan Mullally spoke in her natural voice. She began using the high-pitched voice that became her trademark starting with the second episode.
The Cher doll owned by Jack is worth $60,000. It is a prototype of the doll that Mattel briefly released for sale in 2001. This particular piece belongs to the series creator and producer Max Mutchnick.
The first episode of Season 8 was filmed on a studio set in front of a live audience.
The show's creators made the decision to cast Debra Messing as Grace instead of Nicollette Sheridan only during the very final audition.
Joan Collins was originally planned for the role of Beverly Leslie. Her first appearance in the series was intended to include a fight with Karen, where they would pull each other's hair and rip off their wigs. Collins changed her mind about appearing in the series at the last moment, so the role was rewritten for a man and Leslie Jordan was cast instead.
Nick Offerman, husband of actress Megan Mullally, played a plumber in the 9th episode of Season 4, and later appeared in the series again in 2018, but in a different role.
Jack's fake wife, Rosario the maid, played a fairly insignificant role in the plot development of the first season. However, the character became so popular with viewers that her role was significantly expanded.
Will's brother, Sam, was played by two actors: John Slattery in 1999, and Stephen Weber in 2005 and 2006. Each appeared in two episodes.
Starting from the 9th season, Rosario was removed from the series' storyline because the actress who played her, Shelley Morrison, had retired and categorically rejected all offers to continue filming.
Some actors (Richard Chamberlain, Neil Patrick Harris, and Sean Hayes) played gay characters in the series, after which they openly announced their own non-traditional sexual orientation.
