Eric Griffin knew Adam DeVine slightly before this project because they were both stand-up comedians. When Griffin came in for the auditions, he had no idea that DeVine was one of the series' writers.
In scenes featuring Adam DeVine's feet, they are invariably shown in socks. The socks hide scars he received as a child due to an accident.
About 36% of the project was improvised.
During the filming of the first season, Blake Anderson and Adam DeVine lived in the same house as their characters. This was done to save money, as the actors were convinced the series wouldn't last beyond the first season.
