Korean War, winter 1950. In the frozen and snowy area of Changjin Lake, a bloody battle is about to begin between the elite troops of the United States and China.

- The reservoir is called Jangjin in Korean, but the name with the Japanese transcription has become established in Russian.
- Two months after its wide release, the film became the highest-grossing Chinese film and the highest-grossing non-English language film.
- Filming took place from October 25, 2020, to May 25, 2021.
- Approximately 70,000 soldiers from the People's Liberation Army of China were involved in the filming.
- Most of the film was shot in Zhejiang province: at the Meishan railway station in Huzhou and around the Lishimen Reservoir.
