Short description

Deloris Van Cartier is again asked to don the nun's habit to help a run-down Catholic school, presided over by Mother Superior. And if trying to reach out to a class full of uninterested students wasn't bad enough, the sisters discover that the school is due to be closed by the unscrupulous chief of a local authority.

When the students go out onto the basketball court, Lauryn Hill’s character begins to rap. This scene was improvised.
The cinematographer had to resort to all sorts of tricks to avoid showing the arthritic hands of James Coburn (1928-2002) in the frame.
The famous high note performed by Ryan Toby in the song "Oh, Happy Day" is an "E", one of the highest and most difficult to perform. Toby was 16 years old at the time of filming.
