Short description

After a fictitious marriage with a Russian emigrant, Cellisten Louka, a Czech man, must suddenly take responsibility for her son. However, it’s not long before the communication barrier is broken between the two new family members.

What's left behind the scenes

The filmmakers doubted the film's success: they believed a story about a Russian boy wouldn't be appealing to audiences, as the Eastern Bloc had recently collapsed and Czechoslovakia had freed itself from Soviet influence.
The scenes in the subway were filmed at the Anděl station, which was called “Moskovskaya” (Moscow) during the years of socialism. It still features a panorama of the city of Moscow and communist symbolism.
