Short description

Claressa Shields, a high school junior from Flint, Michigan, aided by her tough-love coach, Jason Crutchfield, pushes past all limitations to become the first American woman to win an Olympic gold medal in boxing. What's left behind the scenes

Ice Cube was initially invited to play the role of Jason, the main character's partner on set. This was in 2020. A year later, he refused to get a coronavirus vaccine and subsequently left the project. Brian Tyree Henry was cast in the role instead.
