Ten strangers are summoned to a remote island and while they are waiting for the mysterious host to appear, a recording levels serious accusations at each of the guests. Soon they start being murdered, one by one. As the survivors try to keep their wits, they reach a disturbing conclusion: one of them must be the killer.
What's left behind the scenes
- The copyright holder did not renew the rights to the film, so it entered the public domain, and anyone could make copies on DVD and VHS. As a result, many distorted copies of the film appeared on the market, and they were certainly not made from the original.
- The ending here is quite different from the novel (1939), where all 10 characters perished. Agatha Christie (1890-1976) changed the ending for the theatrical production, deciding that the audience during wartime would find it too bleak.
