Short description
An eccentric multimillionaire signs an agreement to have his life ended. While selecting his coffin he meets a young woman who has signed up for the same arrangement. Trouble ensues when the couple falls in love and wishes to get out of the contract.
What's left behind the scenes
- This film is based on the eponymous short story by Belcampo, which director Mike van Diem wanted to adapt for the screen since receiving an Oscar for "Character" (1997). Initially, the film was planned to be shot in the United States, and Scarlett Johansson was considered for the lead female role. However, van Diem was unsure if Johansson could handle the comedic role and did not reach an agreement with the producers, ultimately taking the project back to the Netherlands.
