Short description

The setting is Carpathia. The year is 1851. When Elvira gets kicked out of an Inn for a slight monetary discrepancy, she is rescued by a local who takes her to stay at the castle in the hills high above the village. The fact that she happens to resemble the count's former "missing" wife opens a can of worms or two.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Richard Chamberlain was originally slated to play Lord Vladimir Adubus, but he was replaced by Richard O'Brien just two weeks before filming.
  • The name "Elura" is the name of the material from which Elvira's wig was made.
  • The film is dedicated to Vincent Price.
  • The film was shot in exactly one month – from November 19th to December 18th, 2000. Filming took place in Romania.
