Short description

Two common criminals get more than they bargained for after kidnapping the wife of a corrupt real-estate developer who shows no interest in paying the $1 million dollar ransom for her safe return.

What's left behind the scenes

During filming, Aniston received a strong blow to the jaw. The incident occurred while filming a fight scene involving actor John Hawkes and rapper Dante Smith, better known as Mos Def. According to the plot, Aniston tries to break up the fighting men. However, during the shooting, one of the actors accidentally hit the actress in the jaw. The blow was so strong that Aniston simply collapsed to the floor.
The scene in the Bahamas features "Noodle Long and Soft" golf balls. These balls didn't appear until 25 years later, and therefore couldn't have existed during the time the film is set.
In 1986, 20th Century Fox attempted to develop this project. Diane Keaton was set to play the role of Mickey Dawson. However, the project was put on hold as it was deemed too similar to the film "Ruthless People" (1986).
The film opens stating that the action takes place in Detroit in 1978, however, throughout the film, characters are reading newspapers dated 1977.
