Short description

Hyakkimaru, a warrior on a quest to reclaim 48 of his body parts which were each taken by a demon, is joined by Dororo, a thief on a quest to avenge the death of her parents.

What's left behind the scenes

The string instrument Bipa is the biwa, a Japanese variety of lute.
Some of the demons Hyakkimaru fights are based on Japanese mythical creatures. For example, the spider demon is a jorogumo, and the winged demon is a daitengu.
