What's left behind the scenes
- Kevin Costner played the role of the deceased Alex, but almost all of the footage with his participation was cut during editing: he appears at the beginning of the film in a coffin.
- Before filming began, the director housed the actors together, and they spent several days communicating and getting into their roles.
- The film's credits do not list a composer: the director assembled a unique soundtrack of songs from the 60s, which became extraordinarily popular among radio stations, suddenly remembering hits from twenty years ago.
- Harold (Kevin Kline) hums the main musical theme from the film "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981), composed by John Williams, in one scene. The screenplay for the film was also written by Lawrence Kasdan, the director of this film.
