What's left behind the scenes
- According to director and screenwriter James Gunn, a scene in the film where Superman saves a squirrel during a battle was almost cut from the final version because it did not resonate with some viewers at a test screening. However, Gunn watched the film without this scene and decided it was missing. Removing the scene also disrupted the continuity of Superman's movements.
- According to Isabella Merced, her involvement in "Madame Web" helped her prepare for filming "Superman": the experience of playing a superhero and the stunt skills she acquired proved useful.
- Actor Wendell Pierce (who played Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White) admitted that he didn't read comics as a child, and therefore asked his friends to briefly tell him about the DC universe and the character he was going to play before filming the movie.
