What's left behind the scenes
- In the animated series, the main character is able to use the mask both day and night, whereas in the movie, he only possessed this ability at night.
- When Rob Paulsen was recording the lines for Stanley Ipkiss, the producers and directors constantly pointed out how they thought Jim Carrey—who played Ipkiss in Chuck Russell's 1994 comedy—would have delivered a particular line. Eventually, Paulsen grew so tired of it that he decided to follow Tim Curry's advice and bluntly shut down all the advisors, stating that if they wanted, they could hire Carrey himself for the voice acting, but they should stop giving him advice and directions. They apologized to him, and it never happened again.
