What's left behind the scenes

Preparing for a scene in Season 2 where he had to cry, Dave Burd asked his parents to record a video saying goodbye to him as if for the last time. During the filming of this scene, the audio was played through a Bluetooth earbud, and he watched the video on an iPad screen held in front of him (positioned so that it remained out of frame).
Before participating in this project, Dave Bird's acting experience was mainly limited to appearing in his own music videos. He had no experience working on series at all, but according to his co-star Taylor Misiaq, he acted quite professionally during filming. He also gave his scene partners—specifically Gatte and Benjamin Levine—the opportunity to improvise.
At one point in the series, it is mentioned that the character played by Gata has bipolar disorder (formerly known as manic-depressive psychosis). The rapper and actor Gata himself also suffers from this disorder.
