What's left behind the scenes

  • The episode titles are based on classic rock songs.
  • The book upon which the series is based was inspired by the author's experience watching a Fleetwood Mac concert, which served as the basis for the 1997 album 'The Dance'. This concert was the group's first since the 1987 departure of Lindsey Buckingham, the vocalist, guitarist, and former partner of vocalist Stevie Nicks. Even the characters' costumes in the series resemble those actually worn by Buckingham and Nicks.
  • To play live on camera, all the actors learned their respective instruments. Riley Keough took vocal lessons.
  • The main characters became the first fictional band to top the iTunes charts with the release of their album 'Aurora'. The album immediately shot to first place.
  • Before filming began, the actors in the series performed a mini-concert in character before an audience that was completely unaware of who was performing.
  • Sam Claflin initially lied about his vocal abilities. He underwent an audition in the presence of Elton John, which he failed; however, he remained on the shortlist for the role due to his acting talent. He used the pandemic-induced lockdown to study vocals and guitar via Zoom. It is claimed that this helped him significantly, and the difference from that first unsuccessful audition was undeniable.
