What's left behind the scenes
- Actor Tyler Hoechlin was cast as Superman—Clark Kent—without even having to audition.
- Kent was poisoned by kryptonite fumes, resulting in him unintentionally passing his 'arctic breath' to his own son. This plot twist was originally conceived for the fourth season of the series 'Smallville' (2001-2011), but was not used. In the series, the freezing breath was replaced with super-breath.
