What's left behind the scenes

The characters in the series constantly mention Montreal, often as a hint toward the management. This is a reference to the video game developer Ubisoft (which also served as one of the series' producers). Ubisoft's main studio is also located in Montreal, and the series contains references to several Ubisoft games.
The character Ian Grimm, played by one of the project's directors, Rob McElhenney, exhibits traits of several video game developers; however, he is primarily based on Jason Vandenberghe, the former creative director of Ubisoft, which is evident from his beard, bracelets, and manner of speaking.
During the filming of the second season, actor F. Murray Abraham left the cast due to repeated instances of indecent behavior and harassment.
The inserts supposedly from 'Mystic Quest' are actually borrowed from various action games, including For Honor, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
