What's left behind the scenes
- The series takes place between 2019 and 2034.
- The riots and unrest shown in the television news did indeed take place during the independence referendum voting period.
- In the original version of the script, it was not mentioned that Ruth Madley was a wheelchair user. However, when Madley, who has spina bifida and actually requires a wheelchair, applied for the role, director Russell T. Davies ordered the necessary changes to be made to the script.
- Russell T. Davies borrowed many ideas from his work on the series 'Doctor Who' (2005), particularly from some episodes in 2007 and 2008. Specifically, the reuse of the name Vivienne Rook is noteworthy.
