What's left behind the scenes

Netflix trademarked the name "Space Force" in early 2019. In December of that same year, President Trump renamed the existing "Air Force Space Command" to "Space Force" and also wanted to trademark the name, only to discover that Netflix had already done so.
Lisa Kudrow filmed all of her scenes in just five days.
The inspiration for the series came from the statement by the 45th US President, Donald Trump, regarding his intention to create the US Space Force to counter China and Russia. According to Steve Carell, it all began with a call from screenwriter Greg Daniels, who asked how Carell would feel about working on a comedy series called "Space Force." Carell said he would be open to it without even knowing any details of the offer, as both the title and the concept itself were already funny to them.
