Short description
A series of pop-culture parodies using stop-motion animation of toys, action figures and dolls. The title character was an ordinary chicken until he was run down by a car and subsequently brought back to life in cyborg form by mad scientist Fritz Huhnmorder, who tortures Robot Chicken by forcing him to watch a random selection of TV shows, the sketches that make up the body of each episode.

What's left behind the scenes
- Over 60 title options were proposed and rejected for the series. Only the title 'Robot Chicken,' borrowed from a dish at a local Chinese restaurant, was accepted. Some of the rejected options later became episode titles.
- The mad scientist who remains silent throughout the film is named Fritz Huhnmrder. "Huhnmrder" translates from German as "chicken killer."
- Some puppets were made of clay, although in most cases, plastic puppets with styrofoam bodies or entirely plastic ones were used. Very few characters were sculpted from clay—for example, the lemmings in the 'Animal Kingdom Presents' sketch.
- In all cases of product placement, company logos and names are 'blurred out' for humorous effect. In reality, there are no logos or names in those spots. Nevertheless, the names of various products and stores are mentioned repeatedly throughout the animated series.
