What's left behind the scenes
- Catherine Tate (writer, producer, and actress playing the lead role of Kate) based the plot on her own memories of recently giving birth. In the pilot episode, Juno Rinaldi's character dreams of being hit by a car so she could rest in the hospital—this episode was also based on Tate's memories.
- In the second episode of the first season, Catherine Tate's character tries to feed a fussy baby who refuses to eat. Tate filmed this scene with her own son, and her joy when he finally stopped fussing was genuine.
