Short description

Rebecca Bunch is a successful, driven, and possibly crazy young woman who impulsively gives up everything - her partnership at a prestigious law firm and her upscale apartment in Manhattan - in a desperate attempt to find love and happiness in that exotic hotbed of romance and adventure: suburban West Covina, California.

What's left behind the scenes

To justify the musical interludes, the series creator and executive producer Rachel Bloom initially intended to film a project about the entertainment industry, where the main character tries to make a name for herself on Broadway. Her colleague Aline Brosh McKenna convinced Bloom to make a series about a woman who envisions her life as a musical.
Initially, the creators planned to feature Valencia in only two episodes, but Gabrielle Ruiz's performance was so stunning that she was added to the main cast and her role was significantly expanded.
